We consistently celebrate International Women’s Day with a variety of engaging activities. These events are designed to recognize and honor the contribution of every woman in our workplace. In instances where a formal celebration is not feasible, we ensure that every woman receives a surprise gift as a token of our appreciation.
All employees earning a gross monthly income of less than Rs. 30,000 having more than 3 months of continuous service are granted an attendance bonus which will be 5% of their basic salary provided they have not taken any unplanned leave without pay, planned leave without pay, or sick leave.
To encourage our employees to take preventive measures for their sexual health and safety, free condoms are made available to both male and female via dispensers located in the washrooms of our premises.
Through our Period Positive Workplace Program we provide every female employee free hygienic pads.
At AVA Medical, we've enhanced our employee meal program by introducing a meal voucher system. This benefit allows employees to enjoy delicious meals at our canteen at a discounted price.
Our employees’ health counts much for us. That is precisely why we have employed a full-time nurse to attend to our employees’ minor sicknesses and injuries.
Throughout the year, several mini team bonding activities including bowling nights, picnics, are designed to promote collaboration, build relationships, and strengthen team spirit.
Family Day is a valued tradition at AVA Medical, bringing employees and their families together for a fun, relaxed event. It fosters a sense of community, promotes work-life balance, and strengthens the bonds within employees.
Staff party is held once a year. This is a special moment where all employees are rewarded for the year’s hard work. Many surprises are organized, and the most prestigious venues are chosen to ensure the night remains unforgettable for all.
A birthday gathering is organized at the end of the month for those celebrating their birthdays in the respective month. During this celebration, employees enjoy cakes, beverages, and cake cutting. This is a great opportunity for everyone to come together and capture memorable moments with photos. A gift is also given for that occasion.

We celebrate those who served AVA Medical, and in order to recognize their years of service, they are entitled to:

  • 1 year: a certificate and Rs. 1,000.

  • 5 years: a certificate, a congratulation letter, and 1 month’s salary.

  • 10 years: a certificate, 1 month’s salary, and 1 night in a hotel on full board (valid for 2 people).

  • 15 years: a certificate, 1 month’s salary, 2 air tickets (Mauritius-Rodrigues) and 3 nights in a hotel in Rodrigues + 3 additional special leaves for this trip.

  • 20 years: a certificate, 2 months’ salary, 3 additional leaves, 2 nights’ stay in a luxurious hotel

  • 25 years: a certificate, 2 months’ salary, 3 additional leaves, 2 nights’ accommodation on an all-inclusive package (including a massage for 2 persons), 3 additional leaves credited every year.

We believe in education and the opportunities that it can bring to an individual. In order to support our employees in educating their children, we reimburse our employees up to Rs. 5,500 for books bought for their children doing Form 4 to Lower 6.
AVA Medical provides free transport to and from work in the best possible sanitary conditions. It manages 14 people per van and limits transport time to the hour maximum. The company also provides fuel allowances at its discretion.
All our employees need to do is pass along their referral to HR and relax! If the candidate is hired, they will receive Rs. 3,500 at the end of the first year, as long as both the employee and the referred candidate are still with AVA Medical.
AVA Medical has a private pension plan for all its employees. All employees are put on the plan as from the date of entry.
At AVA Medical, we understand the importance of health and peace of mind, which is why we offer a medical insurance allowance to all employees, allowing them to choose the plan that best meets the needs of themselves and their families. To further support our employees, we have set up a dedicated helpdesk that is available regularly to listen to any concerns, offer guidance, and provide effective solutions. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that every employee feels supported and receives timely care when needed.

Time Management Training program is conducted to enhance productivity and efficiency. Led by Mr. Alain Humbert, (founder of ÉcloHésion and expert in benevolent management and mental programming for success) the training equipped employees with essential strategies to prioritize tasks, minimize distractions, and improve scheduling.

Participants also learned techniques for balancing workloads and leveraging tools for better time management. The positive feedback from employees highlights the program's impact, contributing to both individual growth and organizational success

In 2022 and 2024 AVA Medical had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Alain Humbert (founder of ÉcloHésion and expert in benevolent management and mental programming for success) for workshop on ‘Conduire un changement avec rigueur et humanité’ (Leading change with rigor and humanity').

During the 2 days’ workshop the participants have brainstormed & shared ideas/point of views, asked the right questions, developed both technical and human skills so as to devise the best strategy to make each project a success. And now that they are ready, we say 'Action'!

In 2022, MEXA (Mauritius Export Association) successfully launched the capacity-building project to support the growth of the medical devices sector. After two years of collaboration with medical device companies including AVA Medical, the University of Mascareignes, and the Human Resource Development Council, MEXA initiated phase 1 of the aforementioned project. It is worth noting that this joint project aimed to enhance the skills of 15 employees from medical device companies.

In continuation, phase II was launched in 2023 with Lean Six Sigma training facilitated by Franck Strub, a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt at General Electric Healthcare Europe. This collaboration led to a 10-month training program titled "Capacity Building to Support the Growth of the Medical Devices Sector Phase II - Applying Lean Six Sigma tools in various processes in this industry." 42 AVA Medical employees sector benefited from this training.
