In 2022, MEXA (Mauritius Export Association) successfully launched the capacity-building project to support the growth of the medical devices sector. After two years of collaboration with medical device companies including AVA Medical, the University of Mascareignes, and the Human Resource Development Council, MEXA initiated phase 1 of the aforementioned project. It is worth noting that this joint project aimed to enhance the skills of 15 employees from medical device companies.
In continuation, phase II was launched in 2023 with Lean Six Sigma training facilitated by Franck Strub, a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt at General Electric Healthcare Europe. This collaboration led to a 10-month training program titled “Capacity Building to Support the Growth of the Medical Devices Sector Phase II – Applying Lean Six Sigma tools in various processes in this industry.” 42 AVA Medical employees sector benefited from this training.
