We Care

Corporate Social Responsibility

CSR initiatives offer a powerful way to contribute to society and its people. AVA Medical has been actively engaged in supporting communities long before CSR became a formal requirement. Over the years, we have invested in education programs, provided care for children and the homeless, supported local charities, and made financial contributions to impactful charitable projects.

Our Objectives

Responsibility has always been a core guiding value at AVA. Since 2002, we have firmly believed that businesses carry a unique responsibility towards communities. We recognize the importance of protecting the environment while contributing to economic prosperity, social well-being, and improving the quality of life.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund finances social and environmental initiatives undertaken by the group, in accordance with the legislation in force in Mauritius. An internal committee is established every six months on a voluntary basis to manage the fund and identify actions to be taken.

Environment

We prioritize Education by empowering individuals through learning opportunities, such as supporting underprivileged students. In the Society pillar, we focus on enhancing community well-being by partnering with NGOs to support vulnerable groups and promote mental health. Lastly, our commitment to the Environment drives our efforts to safeguard ecosystems, raise awareness, and promote sustainability through conservation initiatives. These pillars reflect our dedication to creating lasting, positive impacts in the communities and environments we serve.

Maurician Wildlife Foundation

We have several promising projects on the horizon for AVA Technopark in collaboration with the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation (MWF), focusing on conservation efforts. Together, we aim to support initiatives that protect and preserve Mauritius' unique natural heritage. These upcoming projects will enhance our commitment to environmental sustainability and reinforce our dedication to safeguarding the island’s biodiversity for future generations.

Will Fly

We are proud to actively collaborate with the NGO Will Fly, supporting their mission to enhance the lives of children in need. Through our ongoing partnership, we organize donation drives, engage in various activities, and provide continuous support. Part of our commitment includes offering mental health activities, such as sophrology sessions, to help the children build confidence, self-esteem, and focus. This is an ongoing initiative that reflects our dedication to making a positive and lasting impact on their well-being.

Support to Chagossian Students

For two consecutive years, AVA has continued its valuable support to four remarkable Chagossian students, covering the costs of their studies. Displaced from the Chagos archipelago half a century ago, their families have been facing challenging living conditions in Mauritius and the Seychelles. The Chagos Refugees Group, an NGO operating in Mauritius and the United Kingdom, identified these students based on their academic accomplishments and financial need.

  • A healthy body equals a healthy mind, and at AVA Medical, we understand the connection between physical well-being and productivity at work. Through our AVA Go program, we empower employees to prioritize their physical health, which directly enhances focus, energy, and overall workplace performance. By sponsoring our AVA Trail Team, we encourage participation in trail running to promote fitness, reduce stress, and clear the mind.

  • The upcoming construction of an on-site gym will further support employees by providing easy access to exercise, helping them stay active and return to work refreshed and ready to perform at their best. These initiatives, along with other wellness efforts, aim to build a strong, energized workforce capable of achieving a healthy balance between well-being and productivity.

Driven by the core values of Leadership, Innovation, Family, and Excellence (L.I.F.E), AVA Medical is committed to making sustainable and positive difference for future generations. Through the AVA Wellness program, we take meaningful steps to improve the well-being and satisfaction of our employees, ensuring their health and happiness are a priority.

  • AVA Medical has integrated Dance Movement Therapy into its wellness repertoire. The "Move for Self-Care" masterclass, led by certified practitioner Daphne Amaya Rouillard, enables participants to reconnect with their bodies, fostering harmony between physical and mental realms. Through guided exercises and movements, participants embark on a journey of self-discovery, releasing tension and embracing creativity in an authentic group setting.

  • Laughter therapy has proven to be a potent tool in promoting relaxation and social cohesion among AVA Medical employees. Facilitated by laughter coach Ravin Lama, these sessions harness the power of intentional laughter to alleviate stress and fortify immune systems.
  • Started since 2022, Sophrology, a practice promoting harmony between body, mind, and emotions, has emerged as a cornerstone of the AVA Wellness Program. Conducted in collaboration with certified sophrologist Jennyfer Cheniart, weekly workshops in line with stress management have provided invaluable insights to over 600 employees. Moreover, individual coaching sessions have been made available, with over 60 employees already benefiting from this opportunity.

  • In 2024, AVA Medical launched Phase 2 of the Sophrology program by introducing Emotional Intelligence sessions to its renowned AVA Wellness Program. Led by our certified coach Jennyfer Cheniart, these sessions are focused on developing emotional awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and effective communication skills, thus further empowering our collaborators with invaluable tools for personal and professional growth.

  • Phase 3 of the Sophrology program will introduce sessions on effective communication, aimed at enhancing interpersonal communication among employees.
