About the Role :

As a R&D Engineer in the Catheter Manufacturing field, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation,designing cutting-edge catheter products, and contributing to the development of life-saving medical technologies.  You will be an integral part of our dynamic R&D team, responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and validating new catheter products, as well as enhancing existing ones. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality, safety, and performance standards of our catheter products and our company best practices.  The role purpose is to create new, and refines existing products, to improve customer satisfaction and increase market exposure.

Main Accountabilities

Principal Responsibilities

• Create and design plans, specifications, and prototypes for PTA/PTCA catheters.
• Conduct rigorous testing and analysis to ensure product performance, durability, and usability.
• Identify and evaluate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize catheter performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement continuous improvements and stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
• Conduct risk assessments and apply mitigation strategies throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory affairs teams to ensure that all catheter products meet applicable regulatory standards and requirements, including FDA and ISO regulations.
• Effectively manage projects and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and project objectives.
• Provide technical guidance to R&D Technicians and support their professional growth.

Technical Studies

• Design and develop new test methods as needed.
• Perform yearly review of R&D documents as required.
• Work on Natec ERP system (X3) in relation to projects assigned.

Technical Report

• Define and write protocols for product validation.
• Write project report on OQ (Operational Qualification), PQ (Process Qualification), PPQ (Product Performance Qualification) & MVP (Master Validation Protocol).
• Work with CAD (autocad/solidworks) drawings in relation to project entrusted.
• Write technical report and PowerPoint presentations as required.
• Complete project documentation for Design History Files of project as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering roles, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry

Skills & Attributes

• Strong understanding of catheter Manufacturing principles, process optimisation techniques, quality control methodologies, and regulatory requirements in the medical industry
• Proficiency in process mapping, statistical analysis, data visualisation, and the use of relevant software tools, simulation software, statistical analysis tools, and ERP systems §
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think creatively and implement innovative solutions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings, and influence stakeholders
