Context :
Natec Medical Ltd is an integrated design, development and manufacturing company specialized in Percutaneous Interventional Medical Devices for the global market. Natec Medical’s client base is represented on all 6 continents, with Asia being our largest zone.
Main Purpose of the Role
The R&D Engineer develops and improves angioplasty PTA, PTCA catheters, stent SDS. R&D Engineer also perform the benchmarking of products with competitors to improve new processes and products. The purpose of the project is to optimize the quality and the cost of the products. So, the products are oriented to improve customer satisfaction and increase market exposure
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management
- Update and implement design history files in relation to product design, usage and performance.
- Manage project within set schedule and ensure that projects entrusted are completed within set timelines.
- Execute the product transfer in production in relation to projects entrusted.
- Follow-up with suppliers regarding purchasing components, tooling, equipment and services in relation to project work.
- Perform design review meetings in relation to the projects assigned.
- Have a good understanding of R&D project requirements (studies CCRF, AP, CAR).
2. Technical Studies
- Design, develop or improve different processes & tooling.
- Perform engineering tests, measurement and analysis as an effort to improve product or processes.
- Design and develop new test methods (as per required standard where applicable).
- Perform yearly review of R&D documents such as FMEA.
- Work on Natec ERP system (X3) in relation to projects assigned (product code creating, BOM, routing etc.).
- Perform benchmarking with competitors.
3. Technical Report
- Define and write protocols for product validation.
- Write project report on OQ (Operational Qualification), PQ (Process Qualification), PPQ (Product Performance Qualification).
- Work with CAD (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) drawings in relation to project entrusted.
- Write technical report and PowerPoint presentations in relation to project entrusted.
Qualifications & Certifications :
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, process development, polymers
Experience :
Graduated candidates.
1 to 2 years’ experience in manufacturing / medical device company.
Skills & Attributes :
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD & SolidWorks
- Good knowledge on Minitab
- Good knowledge of statistical analysis
- Good knowledge on pack office
- Ability to work with rigor
- Ability to manage a simple project and deliver it on time
- Good accountability
Good communication skills in both English & French, in both written and verbal.
