Responsible Innovation at AVA Medical

At AVA Medical, responsibility is built through practical verifiable actions. Our sustainability approach focuses on how we design, operate and maintain our production and laboratory environments across Natec Medical, Xtruline and Abiolabs.

From renewable energy generation and precise air control to digital oversight and safe waste handling, every improvement contributes to safer, more efficient and transparent operations. Through our 30 Actions by 2028 roadmap, we are strengthening environmental and operational performance step by step, aligning our activities with international standards to support responsible growth within the medical manufacturing sector.

Sustainability

Vision

Since 2025, AVA Medical has been advancing a structured roadmap called 30 Actions by 2028, connecting our
30th anniversary with measurable improvements in how we use energy, manage resources and operate our facilities. Each action area represents a concrete step toward more responsible and efficient manufacturing, focused on practical progress, not symbolic targets.

This approach reflects our commitment to operate responsibly and transparently in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our journey is guided by five key principles that shape our sustainability framework across Natec Medical, Xtruline and Abiolabs:

From vision to action

The following focus areas illustrate how our entities; Natec Medical, Xtruline and Abiolabs are progressively integrating responsible practices into their daily operations.

Each reflects tangible actions and control systems that contribute to resource efficiency, safety and compliance.

These initiatives are not separate projects but part of a continuous effort to improve how we use energy, manage air and water quality and handle materials across all production and laboratory environments.

Ensuring a safe and efficient working environment through precise air management and continuous
environmental monitoring.

Natec Medical

Natec Medical operates ISO 14644-classified cleanrooms in ISO Class 7 and ISO Class 8 equipped with HEPA H14 and F7 filters, that maintain controlled air quality and limit cross-contamination between production zones.

Environmental parameters are monitored digitally through a SCADA system which supports preventive maintenance and environmental stability.

Xtruline

Xtruline maintains controlled cleanroom areas for extrusion and molding, applying the same ISO 14644
standards for particulate control and worker safety.

Abiolabs

Abiolabs’ microbiology laboratories operate under ISO 5/7/8 conditions with terminal filtration and
dedicated airflow systems supporting contamination control.

Optimizing energy use through renewable generation and intelligent systems.

Natec Medical
• Natec Medical uses 1 500 kWc heat-recovery chillers that recover heat for HVAC operations.
• Actual site electricity consumption averages 500 kVA.
• A Building Management System (BMS) continuously optimizes temperature lighting and air treatment.

Natec Medical and Xtruline
• Natec Medical and Xtruline operate 2 197 solar panels, generating 1 200 kW (1.2 MW) of renewable solar energy.
• 2.2 MWh lithium ion and 6 MWh thermal storage systems stabilize supply during peak or off grid periods.

Natec Medical, Xtruline & Abiolabs
• Natec Medical can provide up to 85 m³/day from city water and 100 m³/day from borehole supply.
• UV filtration and periodic laboratory testing ensure water quality before use in cleanroom and process
environments.
• SS304 stainless steel piping prevents corrosion and contamination.

Abiolabs
• Produces sterile distilled water in-house for laboratory use.
• Water quality is verified through routine controls.
• Only water meeting predefined acceptance limits is released for use.

Abiolabs, Natec Medical & Xtruline
• Abiolabs autoclaves biological waste at 121°C before collection and treatment by Ecostrill Mauritius Ltd, Infectious
liquid waste is treated through the Ecostrill system with BSDI traceability ; hazardous and non-hazardous laboratory
waste streams are segregated at source ; chemical residues handled through licensed providers.
• Paper recycling bins available across Natec Medical, Xtruline and Abiolabs and collected monthly by WeCycle.
• Plastic waste collected monthly via Recyclar from the shared canteen bin.
• Batteries collected quarterly and dropped off at Emtel Tribeca.

Natec Medical
• Uses Green Light Guru eQMS for document control, CAPA, customer complaints and change management.
• BOM kitting uses barcode scanning instead of manual tracking.
• ORION platform used to monitor Balloon Section performance indicators.

Xtruline
• Uses Orion eQMS for document control, CAPA customer complaints audits risk management and management
review.

Natec Medical & Xtruline
• Natec Medical’s Vertical Balloon Forming (VBM) machine reduces equipment footprint to 0.40 m² and
supports stacked configurations.
• The integrated chiller system of the VBM machine lowers auxiliary cooling needs.
• Xtruline’s disposable surgical facemasks are certified Made in Moris.
• A Learning Management System (LMS) deployed to support standardized training and continuous
upskilling.

Natec Medical, Xtruline
• Sensors monitor temperature humidity pressure and particle levels with alarm notifications.
• Ventilation filtration and pressure-control systems maintain stable environmental conditions.
• The Building Management System (BMS) provides environmental oversight.
• Systems undergo periodic verification and requalification.

Abiolabs
• Performs monthly environmental monitoring in microbiology cleanrooms (ISO 5/7/8).
• Monitoring results are recorded and reviewed.
