Member of Ava Medical, Abiolabs offers specialized laboratory services and provides expert services in a wide range of areas such as: medical device analysis, clean zone environment qualification, mass metrology, microbiology, and DNA testing. Abiolabs is also a distributor of medical tests and equipment.
About the Role
The Microlab Leader shall oversee the day to day operations of the microbiology lab.
He/She performs analysis, maintenance & calibration of equipment and maintain ISO 17025 quality system. He/she will be responsible to comply with all company policies and the management relies on his full contribution to achieve quality objectives and company expectations within deadlines. The Microlab Leader brings together managerial skills and knowledge of safety and lab procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the lab. Supervisory duties include scheduling staff, reordering supplies and maintaining security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
- Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing.
- Performs sampling for microbiological tests and collection of samples for testing as per requirements.
- Perform microbiological and biochemical tests as per selected protocols and ensuring validity of test results through Internal quality controls.
- Testing and analysing samples for contamination as per request.
- Stock inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
- Independently pursue an assigned series of processes, procedures or techniques in accordance with Abiolabs Ltd policies/procedures and customer requirements.
- Maintain laboratory condition, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs and accurate records throughout all procedures.
- Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic and efficient manner.
- Maintain technical records for the department and ensure a full traceability of work done by using existing datasheets and exhibits.
- Perform development, verification and validation of test methods.
- Share information in an open and timely manner to the Operations Manager.
- Assisting with managing priorities and schedule such that individual goals as well as team goals are achieved with encouraged participation in the team.
- Yearly document review.
- Implement corrective actions linked to NC and CC.
- Active participation in PT programs as per PT plan.
- Follow Abiolabs Ltd Quality systems.
- Application of existing procedures and development of new procedures/working instructions and exhibits and specifications.
- Perform validation, qualification and monitoring of clean room.
- Manage external and internal calibration and preventive maintenance for equipments based on calibration and preventive maintenance schedule.
- Training of subordinate staff on microbiological activities.
- Supervise and coordinates the daily tasks of subordinate staffs.
- Performs internal auditing in the microbiology department based on ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
- Ensures internal quality control programme is followed.
- Implementation of indicators related to his job.
- Adhere to company policies and standards.
Qualifications
- BSc in microbiology or biotechnology is prefered
- 3+ years experience working in an accredited lab. 2+ years experience in a leadership role
