About the Role
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all inbound and outbound logistics activities for Natec Medical in Mauritius. This role ensures timely, compliant, cost-effective, and efficient transportation of components, equipment, and finished goods by driving freight forwarders’ performance and maintaining a strong portfolio of logistics partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor all inbound shipments of components, raw materials, and equipment from international and local suppliers.
- In charge of the pre-receipt process for import orders, ensuring purchase orders, shipping documents, and expected arrival information are prepared, reviewed, and communicated ahead of receipt
- Ensure on-time delivery aligned with production and business needs.
- Work closely with Procurement, Planning, and Warehouse teams to anticipate logistics requirements and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs clearance, and local authorities’ requirements in Mauritius.
- Manage and coordinate all outbound shipments of finished goods to global markets, with a strong focus on exportation to the United States, while supporting other international destinations as required.
- Ensure compliance with international export regulations and customer-specific requirements, including US import and customs regulations, Incoterms, and carrier standards.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth customs clearance and on-time delivery for US-bound shipments as well as other export markets.
- Ensure all export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, and regulatory documents) is accurate, complete, and compliant with destination country requirements.
- Monitor service levels, transit times, and delivery performance
- Proactively manage risks, delays, and non-compliance issues impacting outbound logistics.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize lead times, freight costs, and service levels across the outbound logistics network
- Drive and coordinate freight forwarders’ activities (air, sea).
- Build, maintain, and continuously optimize a portfolio of qualified freight forwarders and logistics partners.
- Negotiate rates, service levels, and contracts to ensure cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Monitor forwarders’ performance using KPIs (cost, lead time, service level, reliability) and lead corrective actions when required.
- Act as the central point of contact for all inbound and outbound logistics activities with internal teams.
- Lead a weekly follow-up and review of all ongoing inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring clear visibility on status, priorities, and risks.
- Proactively alert stakeholders on any logistics issues, delays, non-compliance, or risks that could impact production, inventory, or customer deliveries.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding
- Proven experience managing freight forwarders and international transportation (import/export).
- Experience in a regulated environment (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing) is an advantage.

- Proficiency in ERP systems (Sage X3 is a plus) and MS Office tools (Excel in particular).
